You can download and install Yahoo! Messenger with Voice 8 from Yahoo!. However, Yahoo! forces you in such a way that you need to download a small setup program installer that will later initiate the download, setup and installation of actually Yahoo! Messenger setup file. It is hard for dialup users to download the file and all the data is lost if the disconnection occurs.

You can download full standalone setup installer for Yahoo! Messenger with Voice 8 from here (10MB+). This way you can download the file using any download manager and you dont have to download the whole file again if disconnection occurs.

IM your MySpace Friends with MySpaceIM Beta

MySpace has officially released their own instant-messaging service MySpaceIM Beta, which it had launched informally a year ago. The social-networking site has nearly 180 million members worldwide. For Web users who use multiple IM services, Cerulean Studios‘ popular all-in-one client, Trillian, will support MySpaceIM in its impending Trillian Astra release (currently in an alpha test mode).

Make Yahoo Messenger look like Google Talk

Are you fed up watching the same old Yahoo Messenger (bright coloured) window popping up everytime you sign in? Its the time to give it a new look. Thankfully, someone has created a Google Talk skin for Yahoo Messenger! (Like Google Talk’s clean interface?)

Installing the skin:

Download the skin from here
Extract the contents of the zip and move it to C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Shared\Graphics (default installation folder, change it only if you have installed Yahoo Messenger somewhere else)

Activating the skin:

Run Yahoo Messenger
Go to Messenger > Change skin…
Choose Google Talk from the drop down menu and click OK

Though the skin was originally created for Yahoo Messenger 7, it works smoothly on Yahoo Messenger 8.1

GMail doubles maximum attachment size to 20 MB
